.mobi is a top-level domain (TLD) approved by ICANN, the
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. Dotmobi
is unique - it is the first top level domain dedicated to
delivering the internet to the mobile phone. Dotmobi is sponsored
by a consortium of companies which includes the most prominent
mobile and Internet players in the world.

.mobi手机域名可以用英文字母[a-z]、数字[0-9]以及中横线，但是中横线不能出现在域名首尾。例如(！，￥，&，？)等等这些抽象的字符不允许出现在
.mobi域名中。
Dotmobi domain names can contain the English-language letters
A through Z, and the digits 0 through 9. You can also use
hyphens, but hyphens cannot begin or end your domain name.
Spaces and special characters (such as !, $, &, ?, and
so on) are never permitted.

The native language domain name is followed by the Top Level
Domain (TLD), such as .mobi. An example of an IDN is: müller.mobi.

How long can a dotmobi domain name be?
.mobi 手机域名允许注册的长度为:3-63个字符。不包含“http://www”和“.MOBI”。
The minimum length of dotmobi domain name is 3 characters,
and the maximum length is 63 characters (excluding the "http://www"
and ".MOBI" portions).

5).什么情况下可以转移.mobi手机域名？
When can I transfer my domain name?
处于以下情况时，.mobi手机域名不能被转移：
1）转移时距离域名申请日少于60天。
2）域名转移时距离上一次的转移日小于60天。
3）如果域名处于”阻止转移状态”时不能转移。
4）如果域名处于纠纷、争议或有未清款项时，不能被转移。例如：处于税收期。
同时要注意：对于优先域名可能有限制转移的特别权利。由于这些域名会被抢注，那么原注册人在转移时可能会丢失域名的所有权。从而转移方在转移时无法正常提供域名。
Domains cannot be transferred from one registrar to another:
+during the 60 days after the domain was created.
+in the 60 days following a registrar-to-registrar transfer.
+If the domain is on ClientTransferProhibited status. The
registrar can remove this status.
+If the domain is on ServerTransferProhibited status. The
registrar cannot remove this status. The status is applied
in certain domain operations and periods, such as the Redemption
Hold period.
Also, note that Sunrise domains have special restrictions
on them that may prevent transfers. A Sunrise domain name
registrant may lose ownership of his/her domain names as a
result of a challenge proceeding, thereby rendering him/her
unable to deliver a name to you. Please see the Sunrise

7).哪些.mobi手机域名是被限制或不可注册的？
What names are reserved or otherwise not available?
2006年5月mTLD公布了在优先域名中不可用的名称。提醒注册商不要销售这些规定中不允许注册的名称获取利润。
In May 2006, mTLD will publish lists of names that will not
be available in Sunrise. Registrars are encouraged not to
take fees from registrants for these unavailable names.

What are the technical requirements for websites using the
.MOBI domain name?
当前，已经公布了必须的三个技术需求：
1、在XHTML (WAP 2.0)中必须输入对URL的响应。这样才能保证客户移动设备访问时站点的优质服务性。
2、站点必须在二级域名下打开页面，这样，当用户从移动设备浏览站点时，就无须再输入www。例如：网络服务器应能反应来自www.mydomainname.com
和mydomainname.com站点的HTTP（文件传输）请求。

Currently, mTLD has outlined three mandatory requirements
for .MOBI domains:
1、Responses to URLs must be encoded in XHTML (WAP 2.0). This
is to ensure the premium usability of the site for visitors
using their mobile devices.
2、.MOBI sites must implement a page at the second level domain.
This is to eliminate the need to type in "www" when
browsing .mobi sites from a mobile device. For example, the
web server should be able to respond to HTTP requests to www.mydomainname.com
and to mydomainname.com.
3、No frames.
